Top 5 Downtown Raleigh Breweries

Raleigh, not originally known as a craft beer destination, has truly become one in the last five or so years. You no longer need to go to Colorado or Portland or even 4.5 hours up I40 to Asheville to drink some amazing beer. While it isn’t easy to select a top 5 breweries in Raleigh we instead decided to pick our favorites in Downtown Raleigh instead.

  1. Trophy Brewing Company: Trophy Brewing offers a large variety of craft beers, including IPAs, stouts, and sours. They have a popular location on Morgan Street with an amazing pizza restaurant attached and a slightly newer taproom – due to their popularity – in Raleigh’s historic Oakwood neighborhood. Both locations serve up their awesome beer!
  2. Burial Beer Co.: Even though Burial began in Asheville, their rupdated space called The Exhibit is located adjacent to downtown Raleigh’s Transfer Co. Food Hall. So you can have some nationally respective and admired beer while you select from a ton of places to eat lunch or dinner! The brewery itself, adorned with a variety of large, framed artwork by Burial’s artist David Paul Seymour, servers up tasty award-winning IPAs, stouts and sours all year long.
  3. Crank Arm Brewing Company: This brewery is a popular spot for cyclists and craft beer enthusiasts in the downtown area close to Red Hat Amphitheatre. They produce a rotating range of beers, including a variety of IPAs, pilsners and stouts.
  4. Big Boss Brewing Company: Big Boss is one of the oldest breweries in Raleigh. They produce a wide range of beers, including a popular Belgian-style wheat beer called “Hell’s Belle” and a seasonal favorite Pumpkin Ale for the fall called “Harvest Ale.”
  5. Lynnwood Brewing Concern: This brewery has a diverse selection of beers and is located in a spacious environment with tons of outdoor seating. While you taste their awesome beers you can even order food from Wilson’s across the street and have it delivered directly to your table at the brewery!
